YSR Government's antipathy towards Hindus deplored
source: Eenadu, February 16, 2007 (Leading Telugu Daily) (A reader translated this news article from Telugu) Hyderabad:  BJP deplored  the surcharge levied on passengers visiting  various Shiva temples on the occassion of MahaSivaratri festival.  The surcharge  went up to 50 percent.  BJP deplored that the same Government which provides subsidies to non-Hindus (Muslims  and Christians) visiting holy places discriminated against Hindus by  charging extra fare.  BJP complained that Andhra Pradesh Government under the leadership of YS Rajasekhar Reddy is showing antipathy towards Hindus.  K. Lakshman, General Secreatary of BJP released a press statement asking Government to take steps so that such discrimination is not repeated.

Freedom of speech going too far
source: The Daily O'collegian, September 2, 1998 Kristen Jones Kristen Jones is a public relations senior from Oklahoma City. I think of myself as a journalist, in some odd way. Because of this, I value freedom of speech and expression just as much, maybe more, than anyone else on this campus. But this "Preacher Bob" has taken things a little too far. Spreading the word of God is one thing, but to condemn a person to hell because she is in a sorority or was a cheerleader is completely wrong and judgmental.

Psalm 2:8
source: Townhall.com, February 12,2007 By Harry R Jackson Jr. Could it be that Christian Jihad is the only way to stop the blood-seeking radical, Islamic movement? A revival of bedrock Christianity, such as the brand of faith seen in the book of Acts, is our only hope of stopping the advance of violent anti-west radicals. This Christian response may require the mobilization of Christian missionaries that are willing to risk their lives for the cause of Christ.

Trust formed to prevent conversions
source: Deccan Chronicle, Feb 12, 2007 Kakinada. Feb. 11: Seer of Sri Sarada Peetham of Visakhapatnam, Swamy Swarupanandendra Sara-swati resented the forcible conversion of innocent people from Hinduism to other religions. Addressing a large gathering of devotees at Sri Ayyappa temple on Sunday, the seer said that the people who are converting people will be targeted first. He said that these people would be invited into Hinduism by applying tilak on their forehead. He also said that Sunday is a memorable day for Hindus as thousands turned up at the temple to express their solidarity for Hindu religion . The seer called upon the people to safeguard the interests of Hindu religion. He said that Sankara Sena Seva Trust was formed to prevent conversions from  Hinduism .  Swamy Swarupanandendra Saraswati said that the trust will start its operations from Kakinada from Sunday as conversions were more in the Godavari districts. Prior to this programme, a huge procession was taken out on the streets of the city with milk pots. The devotees and the priests  who carried the milk pots later conducted purification programme ‘paalabhishekam’ to Lord Kumara Swamy and Goddess Srivalli Devasena. The seer complemented Brahmasri Chaganti Koteswara Rao for his inspiring spiritual lecture on Siva Puranam at the temple. Convenor of the Godavari districts of Sarada Peetham Chaganti Suri Babu and others welcomed the seer at the temple. Women devotees turned up at the programme in large numbers. Several devotees pledged their support for the programme taken up by the seer .
