Present day Western Christianity is driven by and promotes blind following of cherry picked sentences. For example they they picked 'Go into all nations and preach Gospel'..... In the biblical context nations means the local Jewish tribes but present day missionaries (who otherwise would be baking burgers at restaurants) picked that sentence and launched a global war against non-christians. Here is a real experience in Zimbabwe. British missionaries read Revelation 3:20, "Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." They went to Zanaki people along the shores of Lake Victoria in erstwhile Rhodesia (present day Zimbabwe). Houses in that locality do no have door and anybody knocking at the entrance is considered a thief as all the people know each other they would just shout the name at the entrance. Thieves would usually knock and ensure that nobody is at home. Missionaries received a good amount of thrashing because they used to knock at the doors following the biblical verse.Everyday they used to receive thrashing due to their unending missionary zeal and infallible faith in the verse. Missionary researchers later realized the problem and introduced a new concept called CONTEXTUALIZATION i.e., doing what the target population needs and appropriating the native culture as theirs. Actually Christianity started by contextualizing the pagan rituals and Zoroastrian festivals and native cultures of many Asian and native American cultures.
