Nepal: Foreign money being pumped for religious conversion, says Thapa

Chairman Kamal Thapa of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal has demanded a probe to investigate incessant flow of funds in the country to carryout religious conversion(s).

Thapa was speaking in the parliament, April 29, 2014.

"Few days back, a main opposition leader had strongly raised the issue of flow of funds from foreign sources to derail the peace process. But, for the last few years funds are being pumped into the country to carryout religious conversion. Why has this issue not been raised in the parliament as yet," asked Thapa.

On a different note Thapa claimed that the majority of the parties prior to the CA polls had made the commitment to hold the local level election in six months time. However he said, five months have already passed since election held but there is no sign of declaring the election date until now. The parties have themselves foiled the prospect of local level election, he added.

He also said that as per the revived mandate following the second election of the CA, election to the president and vice president should also have been held but due to political bargaining between the ruling parties it has also been distanced.

The fact is that none of the parties listen to Thapa's cry.
