SAVAGE, Minn. – A children's pastor at Savage's River Valley Church faces two charges of soliciting a minor.

Pope County Sheriff's officials said that Matthew Boos, 24, was arrested on a Friday after a three-month investigation.

According to the criminal complaint, the mother of a victim contacted police about messages her 15-year-old daughter had been receiving on Facebook. Police said the messages came from a Facebook account under the name Jordyn Saltzer, which was later determined to be one of Boos's fake identities.

The investigation lead to a search warrant which was executed on Friday at Boos' St. Louis Park home.

The complaint said that Boos told police that he has struggled with pornography since he was in high school. He admitted to using two fake personas on Facebook and on another meet up site. In both cases, he was pretending to be a 15-year-old girl, the complaint said.

He said that under the ruse he would chat with young girls as young as 12 or 13 years old, soliciting nude photos from them.

He told police that he had spoken with about 15 different teenagers using the personas and admitted to getting nude photos from some of them. Boos told police that he had not saved any of the photos of the girls.

The church said that it is cooperating with the authorities and that Boos has been placed on an indefinite leave. They said they are not aware of any members of the church who are victims.

If convicted, Boos faces up to six years in prison.
