Mysore, July 18 (BLU&KCU)- If Hindus do not come out of complacency, days are
not far off before Tirupathi is converted into another Vatican, alleged leaders
of Confederation of Pro-Hindu organisations.

After holding a meeting in front of Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple here this morning,
about 200 members of the Confederation took out a ‘Save Tirupathi’ campaign
rally through K.R. Circle, Devaraj Urs Road and later presented a memorandum
to the Deputy Commissioner.

The leaders alleged that conversion to Christianity was going unabated in the
temple town of Tirupathi, possibly enjoying the clout of the Andhra Pradesh
Chief Minister, who himself got converted to Christianity and prefixed the name
‘Samuel’. Though Christians form a minority in the town, there are seven churches
existing there, they observed.

Referring to the Padmavati Guest House atop the hill, the Hindu leaders observed
that the Administrator Thomas Verghese was a Christian, so also the Vice-Chancellor
and seven senior Professors of Padmavati Women’s University.

O. Sham Bhat, Advocate, said that everyday about 2,000 people are being converted
into Christianity in India. It is an organised mission with specific tasks and
targets allotted to each pastor. It is an indirect foundation for terrorism.
The Hindu leaders should come together by sinking their differences and uphold
religious discipline, he opined.

The participants in the campaign carried saffron flags with the symbol of ‘Om’.

VHP leader C.V. Keshavamurthy, Sri Shivayogi Swami of Annadani Mutt, Secretary
of Ganapati Sachchidananda Ashram Manasadatta, Pinjra-pole Secretary Shanthi
Lal, Federation leaders Nandakumar, M.K. Premkumar, Ramesh, Sanjay, Satish and
others participated.
